Overview:
IntelliBite is a digital occlusion optimization technology that improves bite registration accuracy by refining occlusal contacts based on real intraoral conditions. It reduces discrepancies from digital workflows, helping prevent issues like bite-through or open bite. By producing results that closely match articulating paper marks, IntelliBite enhances the precision, fit, and predictability of restorative and orthodontic treatments.
Regarding the “Intellibite” function, it is a default feature of the Aoralscan Elf and Aoralscan Elite Series scanner models and is included during the scanning process.
Please note: This feature is available only in version 370X and later.
For reference, the following section uses EW as an example. Please read on to learn how Intellibite works:
During the scanning, the first step is to complete the scans of the upper and lower jaws, as well as the occlusion, according to the standard workflow.

After completing the bite scan, do not proceed directly to the pre-design interface. Instead, click the“Intellibite” button located at the bottom-left corner of the software interface to allow the software to automatically optimize the patient’s occlusion.
If this button is not clicked, the Intellibite function will not take effect at this stage.
To better observe the effect of the Intellibite function, the following real comparison images can be used to view the differences in occlusion with and without Intellibite, providing a clear visual understanding of its impact on bite optimization.

It is important to note that during post-processing, whether or not the Intellibite button was clicked during bite registration, the Intellibite function will still be applied if “Automatic Bite Optimization” is enabled in the Scan Settings.

If you prefer the Intellibite function not to be applied for a particular case, simply disable “Automatic Bite Optimization” in the Scan Settings and avoid clicking the Intellibite button during bite registration. This allows for flexible control over when and how Intellibite is applied.
