Overview
After installing the coded scan bodies, Elite can assist users in scanning the scan bodies with intraoral photogrammetry (IPG). Complete and accurate data of scan bodies enables technicians to perform more precise designs for dentures. This article introduces the basic scan flow and strategy for scanning the coded scan bodies.
How to scan coded scan bodies?
STEP 1: Loop Scan
Start from the hexagon part of the coded scan body positioned at the posterior area. Next, continue to scan the opposite scan body along with the dots. Then, move to scan the remaining 4 coded scan bodies in turn along with the diagonal line. In this step, it is not necessary to scan all dots of coded scan bodies.
STEP 2: Capture markers
Start from the first coded scan body in the last step. Scan the coded scan bodies in turn. Acquire complete surface dot data by reciprocating. Ensure the markers on the upper surface turn green, and all images of coded scan bodies have been presented on the window.
It is important to acquire clear data of 6 dots around the hexagon of each coded scan body in that the dots contain crucial position and angle data of the coded scan bodies.
Tips: The status of markers
In general, the markers on the coded scan bodies have 3 statuses.
Color | Status |
Orange | Insufficient data |
Light green | The current frame has been captured |
Dark green | Sufficient data with full recognition |
