DICOM Data Integration

Overview

Users can import the DICOM data and align it with the oral and facial data to create a virtual patient. This virtual patient owns more comprehensive information, polishes the diagnosis, enhances the communication between dentists and patients, and provided more general guidance for designers to create suitable treatments. The alignment results could be imported to the EXOCAD directly without manual alignment.

How to import the DICOM data?

The DICOM data can be imported in the creation stage of orders or the alignment stage.

STEP1: Import in the creation stage of orders

Click the “import DICOM data” button, and select the corresponding file folder.

STEP 2: Select the file to import in the pop-up and click “yes”.

STEP 3: Import in the alignment stage

Enter in the interface of DICOM alignment after aligning the oral and facial data.

Click the DICOM data icon on the right side to select the corresponding file folder and file to import.

How to align the DICOM data and oral data?

STEP1: 3-point alignment

Enter in the interface of DICOM alignment after aligning the oral and facial data. The left view is the DICOM data. Drag the threshold bar to adjust the view.

The right view is the oral data. Pick up 3 points from each data to align. Click the “manual alignment” button to finish.

STEP2: Check the virtual patient

Subsequently, check the alignment results, namely, the virtual patient. This patient includes oral, facial and DICOM data and clearly reveals the information of the real patient.
