Scanning Edentulous Models with Bite Rims DS-EX Series

Step by step instructions on how to scan edentulous models with bite rims for denture design


Check your computer to make sure it is configured correctly to run the software.  Make sure your desktop scanner is calibrated.


Set up your order by selecting all the teeth and full denture. Make sure the "Scan Bite Rim" tab is on.  Under the Material tab, you can select the material you would like your denture to be manufactured out of.  Then select finish. 


Back on the order page, select "Restoration" under dentistry type, "Unsectioned Model" and "Bite Rims" as the occlusion type.  Select the Scan tab.

On the Scan page, follow these steps. 





      Now you are ready to scan the lower model.


Next, scan the upper model.



Next align the occlusion

After you have aligned the models and have 4 green checkmarks you are ready to go to the predesign phase where you can edit your scans and set the midline. Then you are ready to finish and export your scan files.
