The guidelines apply to the maintenance of the AccuFab-CEL.

Overview

During the 3D printing process, heat is generated due to the curing of the resin by UV light. High temperatures are a significant factor contributing to potential failures, and they can lead to a decrease in the lifespan of the screen. The cooling system of the CEL printer includes two fans installed on the left and right side shells. After prolonged operation, dust accumulates on the fan filters, affecting the internal cooling of the printer. To ensure the printer's normal operation, it is necessary to regularly clean the fan filters.

Required sources

Nitrile gloves 、Industrial wiping paper、Brush 、Scissor、shorter 3mm Phillips screwdriver、2.5mm Hex Key Allen Wrench、3mm Hex Key Allen Wrench、6mm Phillips screwdriver

Before performing maintenance

Preparing the workspace

Prepare the AccuFab-L4D and a dust-free workspace for cleaning the fan filters. Prepare additional space for storing the rear and side shells of the printer during maintenance.

Remove the Build Platform and resin tank

Due to the maintenance requiring the printer to be laid on its back, before performing maintenance, remove the build platform and resin tank to prevent resin from dripping or overflowing, thereby avoiding contamination of the printer.

CAUTION：

Resin may cause skin irritation or an allergic skin reaction. Wear Nitrile gloves when handling liquid resin . If it comes into contact with the skin, wash skin with plenty of soap and water.

Unplug the printer

Before performing maintenance, please turn off the printer and disconnect the power cable from the printer. Do not perform maintenance on the printer while the printer is connected to power.

Performing maintenance on the printer while it is plugged in increases the risk of electric shock. 

Removing the side shell screws

STEP 1: REMOVE THE SIDE SHELL SCREWS (Top)

Remove the pack from the top of the environment regulator and loose the three screws with a 2.5mm hex key allen wrench to make it easy to remove the screw at the top of the housing.

Remove the rubber caps from the top of the four screws. Use a 6mm Phillips screwdriver to loosen and remove the four screws located at the top of housing. Set the screws and rubber caps aside.

STEP 2: REMOVE THE SIDE SHELL SCREWS (Bottom)

Lay the printer gently on its back. 

Use a 6mm Phillips screwdriver to loosen and remove the four screws located at the bottom of housing.

Removing the rear shell 

STEP 1: REMOVE THE REAR SHELL SCREWS (Upper)

Use a 3mm Hex Key Allen Wrench to loosen and remove the two screws located at the upper part of the rear shell. Set the screws aside.

STEP 2: REMOVE THE REAR SHELL SCREWS (Lower)

Use a 2.5mm Hex Key Allen Wrench to loosen and remove the two screws located at the upper part of the rear shell. Set the screws aside.

STEP 3: REMOVE THE REAR SHELL

Pull the rear shell directly away from the printer to remove it. Set the rear shell aside.

Removing the left side fan filter

Open the chamber door before removing the fan filters. The closed door may obstruct the removal of side panels.

STEP 1: REMOVE THE LEFT SIDE SHELL 

Gently slide the side panel towards the back of the printer and remove it from the printer. 

STEP 2: REMOVE THE FAN FILTER 

Use a 6mm Phillips screwdriver to loosen and remove the four short screws. Set the side shell and fan filter aside. 

Removing the right side fan filters

A shorter 3mm Phillips screwdriver is needed to remove the right side fan filter from the right side panel.

STEP 1: REMOVE THE RIGHT SIDE SHELL

Gently slide and pull the right side panel out. Remove the glue and cable make it easier to remove the screws.

STEP 2: REMOVE THE SCREWS

Use a shorter 3mm Phillips screwdriver to pass through the hole of the fan mount, loosening and removing the four short screws. Set aside both the four long screws and the screwdriver.

Remove the fan filter and set it aside. 

Cleaning the fan and filters  

STEP 1: CLEAN THE FILTERS

Gently remove dust using a brush and water. Be careful not to scrub too hard to avoid damaging the filter.

STEP 2: DRY THE FILTERS 

Use a clean wiping paper to absorb excess water and then allow it to air-dry. You can also use a hairdryer to expedite the drying process.

STEP 3: CLEAN THE FANS

Use wiping paper to remove the dust on the surface of the fan blades. 

Reinstall the side pannels

After cleaning, reinstall the fan filters and set the side panels in position.

STEP 1: REPLACE LEFT SIDE PANEL 

Align the four holes on the side shell with those on the filter. Using a 3mm Phillips screwdriver, fasten the four short screws into the side shell.

Align the fan and the filter. Place the side shell back onto the printer. Press the side shell inward, towards the printer body, and slide it towards the front of the printer. 

When the side shell is fully seated, there should be no gap between the side shell and the front panel. 

STEP 2: REPLACE RIGHT SIDE PANEL 

Align the installation holes on the side shell, fan filter, and fan. Use a short 3mm Phillips screwdriver to pass through the fan mounting holes and tighten the four screws. 

Connect with the cable.

Place the side panel back onto the printer. Press the side shell inward, towards the printer body, and slide it towards the front of the printer. Make sure no gap between the side shell and the front panel. 

Reinstall the shell

Place the rear shell back onto the printer. Press it towards the front of the printer to ensure that it fully seats in place. There should be no gaps between the rear shell and the side or bottom shells.Tighten the screws to secure the rear shell.

Securing the side shells

STEP 1: FASTEN THE SIDE SHELL SCREWS (Top)

Use a 6mm Phillips screwdriver to fasten four screws located at the top of housing. Set the rubber caps in position.

STEP 2: FASTEN THE SIDE SHELL SCREWS (Bottom)

Lay the printer gently on its back. Use a 6mm Phillips screwdriver to fasten the four screws located at the bottom of housing. Stand the printer upright.
