Aoralscan3-Calibration


Overview

 

Accurate and detailed data can be beneficial to the following design and treatments. However, various reasons may interfere with the accuracy and brightness of the device, resulting in inaccurate and imprecise data acquired. Shining 3D provides a simple approach to calibrating the device. 

 

How to calibrate the AoralScan 3?

 

STEP 1: Install the calibrator

Remove the scanner tip and install the calibrator according to the schematic diagram on the end of the calibrator. Please insert the front part of the scanner correctly to avoid any damage. 

STEP 2: Connect the calibrator and the PC

Connect the calibrator’s end and the PC through a USB 3.0 data cable. After the connection, the indicator on the calibrator’s lateral surface turns red. 

STEP 3: Launch the calibration program

Launch the IntraoralScan software and click the calibration button in the upper right corner to enter the interface of calibration. 

STEP 4: Start calibration

Click the “start” button to conduct the calibration automatically. Wait for the finish of the calibration.

STEP 5: Adjust brightness

Switch to the “brightness adjust” interface, and click the “start” button to conduct the brightness adjustment automatically.

STEP 6: Change the scanner tip

Click the “X” button to quit the program, remove the calibrator, neaten the calibrator and the cable, and install the scanner tip.

 

How often should users calibrate the device?

 

We recommend users to execute the calibration under several circumstances:

  • The initial use of the device;
  • Every 2 weeks;
  • Accidentally dropping or strongly vibration.
  • The brightness adjustment is recommended once every 3 months.
