AoralScan 3 Wireless can be connected to the PC in both wireless and wired modes to meet the needs of users under various scenarios, improving work efficiency and flexibility. This guide can lead users to learn the installation approaches to realize a more efficient workflow.
How to connect to the PC in wireless mode?
STEP 1: Cradle setup
Connect the power to the hole “DC 12V” on the cradle by the power adapter.
Connect the USB 3.0 port on the PC to the type B port on the cradle by the data cable.
The cradle will connect to the PC, and the indicator on the cradle will turn from red to green, which suggests a successful connection.
STEP 2: Scanner setup
Remove the dust cap and install a scanner tip. Plug a battery into the battery cabin at the bottom of the scanner main body.
Position the scanner main body on the cradle, and the indicator on the cradle will flash when charging.
How to connect to the PC in wired mode?
STEP 1: Cradle setup
Please refer to step 1 of the previous question to install the cradle.
Next, Insert the bracket into the cradle with a snap fastener. Please firmly install the bracket to avoid any damage to the scanner.
STEP 2: Scanner setup
Remove the dust cap and install a scanner tip.
Plug the wired battery into the battery cabin at the bottom of the scanner main body.
Put the scanner main body on the bracket, and connect the wired battery to the cradle.

What is the difference between the wireless mode and the wired mode?
The differences between the two modes are the battery life and utilization scope.
- The wireless mode requires a battery to provide power for the scanner. A battery can support 2 hours of continuous scanning, in other words, 60 continuous cases. Besides, the standby time can reach 10 days. As for the charging of batteries, users can charge the battery by setting the scanner on the cradle to charge slowly or plugging the batteries in the charging base to charge quickly.
- The wireless mode requires the distance between the cradle and the scanner to be less than 5m in utilization.
- The wireless mode applies WI-FI 6 to transmit the data from the scanner and the PC.
The wireless mode can release the utilization limitation and create more space for operations, and users can select their preferred modes.
